Description
Mount Vernon School District is seeking two candidates for Title I Paraprofessional Positions. One of the postions is at the Elementary School and the other is at the Intermediate School.
The Title I Paraprofessional Position provides targeted reading instruction to students in grades Kâ5 who are identified as needing additional support. This position is funded by Title I and focuses on closing the achievement gap by delivering evidence-based interventions in small group or one-on-one settings. The teacher collaborates with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to promote literacy growth and student success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide small group and individualized reading interventions to identified students in grades 3â5.
Use assessment data (e.g., benchmark screeners, progress monitoring tools) to identify student needs and plan instruction.
Collaborate with Title 1 Reading Teacher and classroom teachers to align interventions with core instruction.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and assessment data.
Participate in and contribute to data team meetings, MTSS, and other collaborative planning structures.
Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for support at home.
Use research-based instructional practices aligned with district and state standards.
Assist with Title I compliance documentation, including parent involvement and program evaluation.
Participate in professional development opportunities related to literacy, intervention, and instructional strategies.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
