The Missouri Parents as Teachers Program is a free and voluntary parent education program offered through the Mount Vernon School district, serving families who are expecting a child or have children under the age of kindergarten entry. PAT helps to establish positive partnerships between home, school and the community and plays a vital role in supporting families and children from the very beginning toward school readiness.

We offer personal visits, where we will bring you developmental information to help you know what to be working on with your child and answer parenting questions. Group connections, fun events and small group meetings for families. Free screenings, to make sure your child is developmentally on track. Resource and referral network, we refer children to preschool, Head Start, and community resources.
