Superintendent's Page

Mr. Scott Cook is in his eighth year serving as Superintendent of the Mount Vernon R-V School District.  Mr. Cook served previously as the Principal of Mount Vernon High School for six years joining the District in 2010.  Prior to coming to Mount Vernon, Mr. Cook was an Assistant Principal at Willard High School for six years and also served as a Social Studies Teacher and Basketball Coach during his tenure at Willard.  Mr. Cook began his career as a teacher and coach at Halfway High School.
 
Mr. Cook has earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Missouri State University, a Masters in Secondary Administration degree from William Woods University, and an Education Specialist in Superintendency from Southwest Baptist University. 
 
Mr. Cook serves as the Southwest Representative on the Executive Board of the Missouri Association of School Administrators.  Mr. Cook also serves on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Center for Educational Excellence.  He was the 2020-2021 President of the Southwest Missouri Association of School Administrators and the 2020-2021 President of the Mount Vernon Rotary Club.
 
Mr. Cook was recognized as the southwest Missouri New Superintendent of the Year in 2018 by the Missouri Association of School Administrators and the Emerging Principal of the Year in 2012 by the Southwest Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals.
